Abstract

We introduce the SCIM client app for Nextcloud that allows Nextcloud users and groups to be automatically synced to external services that support the SCIM standard. This enables Nextcloud to act as an authoritative store of user identity information, simplifying user management across multiple connected services.

This talk will discuss the motivations behind the app as well as its practical use cases.

Edward Ly

Dr. Edward Ly is a software engineer at Nextcloud as part of a team that develops 3rd-party integrations and ethical AI solutions, as well as supports the greater Nextcloud community. Previously, he obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aizu, where he conducted research on machine learning in digital audio signal processing applications and published his work as free software. Recently, he has also spoken at various open source events including SeaGL, FOSSY, and the Nextcloud Community Conference.
